2015 Hyundai Genesis Interior

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis has a slew of upgraded interior features added for both comfort and style. On this new and improved model you'll find a reshaped steering wheel, multi-density seat foams, easier-to-grab door handles alongside three different types of wood grain (2). The 2015 Genesis sports real leather, real wood and real aluminum, and according to Syeth Miersma of Autoblog, the colors and design feel a full grade higher than the 2014 model(3).

Genesis Performance

There are two engine choices on the 2015 Genesis; a 3.8-liter V6 with 333 horsepower of a 5.0-liter V8 with 429 horsepower(1). The Genesis comes with an eight-speed shiftronic automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive(2), depending on the settings of the Intelligent Drive Mode Select (IDMS - also new this year).

The IDMS system is a driver-adjustable control that alters the transmission, steering, stability control and suspension settings(1). Also available is an optional all-wheel drive system called HTRAC, which adds "all-weather drivability and better on-demand performance in dry conditions"(2). In the normal drive mode there is focus on superior ride comfort, while "Sport" mode gives more power to the rear wheels for a sportier feel. The 2015 Genesis also has a new variable-ratio electric steering function; a degree of adjustability in steering that delivers noticeable changes between the different drive modes (2). Fuel economy mode is automatic in steady-state driving, sending 100 percent of the power to the rear wheels (3).

2015 Genesis Exterior

The exterior on the 2015 Hyundai Genesis easily matches the high-class interior it's sporting. "It ebbs quality before you even have a chance to sink into the plush leather seats or appreciate the genuine wood trim," wrote Matt Degen of Kelley Blue Book (1).

It has a three-inch longer wheelbase, totally redesigned styling as well as an elegant overall appearance. "An aggressively long silhouette conveys a feeling of speed and real luxury," wrote Miersma, despite Hyundai's assurances that it's a premium sedan rather than a luxury model (3).

Safety Features

Beyond Hyundai's preexisting reputation of safety, the 2015 Genesis includes even more safety features to be appreciated. This model sports a lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and heads up display with blind spot detection. The new Genesis uses its new Sensory Surround Safety that uses cameras and radar to keep the driver safe; even in fog and tough driving conditions, this technology can see for you and help save lives on the road.

New Features for 2015

There are two main feature upgrades for the 2015 Genesis that Hyundai is particularly proud of; the CO2 sensor and Smart Trunk. The CO2 sensor was created because exhaled gas can create drowsiness over a long period of time. The CO2 sensor reacts when the CO2 concentration in the cabin goes above 2,500 parts per million, this activates vents that bring in fresh air via a HVAC system.

The Smart Trunk is another excellent feature that just uses the driver's proximity key to automatically open; the driver simply stands with the key on them in the trunk's vicinity for three seconds and it will open automatically - an extreme convenience, particularly with full hands. The 2015 Genesis will also include an updated HD navigation system with infotainment software, that includes the award-winning BlueLink system.(3).

Genesis Pricing & Availability

The 2015 has an extremely competitive price tag ($38,000 MSRP) considering the high level of luxury, features, performance and safety.
